Protected by Separation by Adeline Atlas

Welcome back to Soul Renovation. I’m Adeline Atlas — 7-times published author.
*Sometimes protection doesn’t come as a shield — it comes as subtraction. When you ask God to protect you from your enemies, don’t be surprised when people you love start falling away. Because not all enemies come with obvious labels. Some were dressed as supporters. Some were draining you softly. Some were sent to keep you stuck.
Let me say something that may sting before it soothes:
When you ask God to protect you from your enemies… don’t be surprised when the fallout looks like friendship.
It’s not betrayal. It’s clarity.
It’s not loss. It’s alignment.
It’s not a storm — it’s a surgical separation designed to protect your purpose.
You see, when you ask for divine protection, what you’re really asking for is exposure.
Because God doesn’t just protect with walls — He protects with revelation.
He shows you what couldn’t come with you.
What couldn’t be trusted with your next level.
Who was never clapping from a pure place.
And sometimes the scariest truth is this:
Your biggest enemy didn’t look like hate — they looked like comfort.
They looked like a friend you outgrew.
They looked like someone who smiled in your face but fed doubt into your dreams.
They looked like someone who never clapped when you won.
They looked safe — until your elevation revealed the cracks.
And that’s what happens when you level up spiritually:
The veil lifts.
People start exposing themselves without you saying a word.
Suddenly, they get distant.
Suddenly, they stop calling.
Suddenly, they throw shade where there was once support.
And you’re left wondering, “Why is this happening now?”
The answer?
Because you prayed for it.
You prayed for discernment.
You prayed for peace.
You prayed for protection.
And God said: “Okay. Watch what I remove when you stop ignoring the signs.”
Let me be clear — not every friend lost was an enemy.
But not every friend kept was an ally, either.
Some people were planted in your life to stall you.
To keep you looping in old habits, old identities, old timelines.
To make sure you never got bold enough to leave the version of you they liked best — the small one, the dependent one, the non-threatening one.
But God doesn’t play with purpose.
And when He sees you praying for next-level peace, He doesn’t just give it to you — He prunes for it.
He starts clearing what can’t grow in your garden.
And sometimes that looks like losing a whole friend group.
Sometimes it’s family.
Sometimes it’s a relationship you thought was “forever.”
But what’s really happening is: you’re being released.
Released from loyalty that was draining you.
Released from energy that was masking itself as love.
Released from fake support that was rooted in competition.
And once you start walking in that kind of clarity, you stop begging people to stay.
You stop explaining why you’re different now.
You stop making excuses for divine decisions.
Because when God removes, He replaces.
And what’s coming?
Peace that doesn’t require explaining yourself.
Connections that feel like oxygen.
People who cover your name in rooms you’re not even in.
People who see your elevation and clap with a pure heart.
So if you’re in the season of shedding, losing, letting go — breathe.
You didn’t fail.
You didn’t do anything wrong.
You asked for protection.
And this is how it looks when Heaven says: “Yes.”
