Why Your Linktree Is Losing You Sales
May 03, 2025Hi Queens, welcome back to the School of Soul: The Social Series. I’m Adeline Atlas, and today we’re talking about why your Linktree might actually be costing you sales — and how to fix it.
Let’s be real:
Linktree by itself isn’t bad.
It’s how you use it that makes or breaks your results.
If you’re not intentional about how you set up your Linktree, you’re creating confusion — and in sales, confused people don’t buy. They click off.
🎯 Here’s Why Your Linktree Might Be Losing You Money:
1. Too Many Links = Overwhelm
When someone clicks your Linktree and sees 8–10 random links — they don’t know what to do.
- Should they download the freebie?
- Watch your YouTube?
- Check your coaching?
- Read your blog?
- Follow your podcast?
When there are too many options, the brain freezes.
No clear path = no action.
✅ Fix it:
Prioritize ONE action you want them to take first.
- Want them to buy? Put the paid offer first.
- Want them to join your list? Put the freebie first.
Everything else comes after.
2. No Clear CTA (Call to Action)
Your Linktree shouldn’t just list links.
It should tell people what to do next.
Example of weak Linktree:
- “Instagram”
- “Free Guide”
- “Work With Me”
Example of strong Linktree:
- “🚀 Launch Your First Offer (Mini-Course $27)”
- “🔥 Free Story Scripts That Sell (Instant Download)”
- “💎 Apply for Private Coaching (Limited Spots)”
✅ Fix it:
Use the titles of your links like mini-sales pitches.
Make them exciting. Make the action obvious.
3. No Product Pricing Upfront
If you’re selling something, let people know before they click.
When you hide the price behind a second click, people hesitate.
If they already know it’s a $27 mini-course or a $97 starter kit, they’re mentally prepared to buy.
✅ Fix it:
Put the price in the link title or description.
Example:
- “Launch Your Digital Store ($47 Mini-Course)”
4. Your Linktree Looks Generic (Not Branded)
When your Linktree looks plain, messy, or doesn’t match your brand colors, it feels low-effort — and buyers pick up on that energy.
✅ Fix it:
Even on the free plan, customize your:
- Background color
- Button colors
- Fonts
If you upgrade to Linktree Pro, you can also add custom backgrounds and embedded videos.
Make it look like an extension of your brand, not just an afterthought.
5. Linktree Doesn’t Actually Sell for You — You Do
Linktree is just a bridge.
You still have to drive traffic intentionally through:
- Instagram Stories
- Reels
- Lives
- Captions
- Broadcast Channels
If you just drop your link in bio and never talk about it, don’t expect magic.
✅ Fix it:
Mention your Linktree multiple times a week.
Create Story slides that walk people through your offers step-by-step.
Talk about it. Drive to it. Sell through it.
🛎️ Final Tip:
When you treat your Linktree like a storefront — not just a pile of links —
you turn passive followers into paying customers.
Clarity. Simplicity. Confidence.
That’s how you win.
