SINGULARITY IN EVERYDAY LIFE

Singularity, in its simplest terms, means we are moving towards a condensed world – into one. It is hard to imagine on a grand scale but easy to see it happening on the micro levels, and micro steps add up to a monumental change overnight. And often, no one saw it coming because it comes slowly and almost behind the scenes. Singularity is the underlying theme of everything that is happening in our world on every level, but it hides in the shadows of the actual aim. Everyone sees all the AI coming, but what does that mean? Soon, less can do more and without us. 

Why are middlemen eliminated in life? Because it accelerates the speed of deliverables. Middlemen are being eliminated across various industries due to the advent of artificial intelligence. With AI-powered systems and automation, the traditional roles played by middlemen, who acted as intermediaries between producers and consumers, are becoming obsolete. The reason behind this elimination is simple: it equates to faster delivery of goods and services. As AI continues to advance, the trend of eliminating middlemen is likely to persist, 

Singularity refers to the idea that various aspects of life are becoming more condensed, streamlining our world. BUT that also means people, jobs, careers, and entire industries are being deleted overnight.

Historically, middlemen have played essential roles. Remember when travel agents were needed? Or how about before Amazon when you had to go to five stores to get everything you needed for your home? These are just a few examples of the “middleman” being eliminated to speed up service and product deliverables.

All middlemen are being eliminated, not just the little guys. 

Even Google may be the middleman in ChatGPT's era of dominance. 

Chatbots have evolved to be much more sophisticated with the help of generative AI technology. They are trained on billions of texts from the internet, allowing them to learn and overstand any given subject. Chatbots can write essays, poems, and songs, and some can even produce art or music from text prompts.

If I wanted to go on vacation to Europe and I wanted to make sure I saw the top fifteen Instagrammable hotels while I was there, WHY would I go to Google and click in and out of pages to see everyone’s opinion? That is a waste of my time. I can simply ask ChatGPT to give me the top list based on statistics, and ta da, in ten seconds, I have my answer.

At the same time, this transformation may impact the middle class because it also results in job losses for those who previously held the role of middlemen. 

As the world moves towards singularity, various aspects of life will become more simplified. By overstanding how the elimination of the middleman contributes to this shift, we can better prepare for and adapt to the changes it brings to society.
