OPM TO OPA

We are moving from ownership of assets to using OPM and OPA. In recent years, there has been a noticeable shift in the way society views ownership and its role in business ventures. This shift is characterized by a move towards a usage model, where businesses are leveraging "Other People's Assets" (OPA) rather than "Other People's Money" (OPM) to grow their enterprises.

OPM stands for "Other People's Money," which refers to using borrowed money from other people rather than your own money to finance your business.

OPA stands for "Other People's Assets," which refers to building a business model that leverages assets owned by others to generate income or revenue for yourself.

The great migration online is really a grander migration from an ownership of asset model to a usage of asset model. This is why they say, “You’ll own nothing and be happy.” You’ll still have access to everything; you just won’t own it. The world of the future will be ownership free and instead we will rent service/right of use for almost everything.

What are real world examples of OPA over OPM?

This can include platforms like Uber and Airbnb, which do not own the cars or homes used in their services but instead rely on the assets of drivers and hosts to provide the service.

Uber – owns no cars. Airbnb – owns no homes. The future industries revolve around no need for assets as instead of harnessing OPM to obtain assets to make money off of, they directly harness the assets of others and have no overhead.
