Rule #4: Censor the Contrast — Silence the Other Side Before They Can Speak
Propaganda doesn’t just spread one story. It suppresses others. Rule four is all about limiting contrast. Because if people see the full picture — both sides, both sources, both perspectives — the illusion breaks.
This is why censorship always rises in tandem with propaganda. Not because dissenting voices are always wrong. But because they’re inconvenient to the agenda.
Censorship today is more sophisticated than simply deleting posts. It comes in many forms:
- Shadowbanning (where your content is hidden but not removed)
- Throttling (where engagement is restricted)
- Algorithmic burying (where search results prioritize “official” sources)
- Demonetization (where alternative creators are financially punished)
- “Fact-checking” labels (which don’t actually check facts, but steer perception)
The goal is not to engage with ideas. It’s to prevent them from being seen in the first place.
When contrast is censored, the narrative becomes a monoculture — not because it won, but because nothing else was allowed to grow. And when all roads point to the same conclusion, the public stops asking if the road is even real.
