Creating By Default: The Power of Words and Conscious Creation
Today, I want to share with you one of the best-guided journals I've received in a while. I love how it starts off not just by telling you to ask for what you want but by explaining what I call creating by default. Creating by default is where you unintentionally create and reinforce neural network pathways or behaviors in your life. Essentially, if you continue to tell yourself that you are tired or very sick, you will create sickness and exhaustion. Whatever you put after the words "I am" literally comes true.
Think about it—every time you say, "I am tired," "I am stressed," or "I am sick," you are reinforcing these states in your body and mind. Your words have power, and they shape your reality. This is why it's so important to be mindful of the language you use, especially when it comes to self-talk. Be really careful that when you are creating your consciousness, you are doing it intentionally and positively.
Imagine your mind as a garden. The words you use are the seeds you plant. If you constantly plant seeds of negativity, you'll grow a garden full of weeds. However, if you plant seeds of positivity and nurture them with care, you'll cultivate a beautiful garden full of flowers. This analogy shows just how critical it is to choose your words wisely. Every time you speak, you are planting seeds that will grow into your future reality.
A lot of us are stuck in stories, cycles, and patterns in life. Everything stems from our vocabulary and our words. Every word literally counts. When you speak words, they vibrate through your body and create a frequency. So every word you speak carries energy. If you speak negative words, you are the only one who suffers because they vibrate through your body. It doesn't actually affect the person you might intend it to. This means that every time you criticize yourself or others, you are the one who absorbs that negative energy. Conversely, positive affirmations can uplift your spirits and strengthen your resolve.
Consider the impact of words on your daily interactions and long-term goals. When you wake up in the morning and say, "I am grateful for this new day," you set a tone of appreciation and positivity that can carry you through the day. Contrast this with waking up and thinking, "I am dreading today." The latter mindset will undoubtedly lead to a more challenging and less fulfilling day. Words are not just sounds we make; they are powerful tools that shape our experiences and our lives.
Let's take a deeper look at how creating by default can affect various areas of our lives. In relationships, for instance, telling yourself, "I am loved and appreciated," will help you to feel more secure and confident, which in turn fosters healthier interactions with others. On the other hand, if you constantly tell yourself, "I am not good enough," you will project that insecurity and potentially push people away. The language you use with yourself is reflected in the way you engage with the world around you.
Your career is another area where your words have a profound impact. Telling yourself, "I am capable and successful," builds confidence and motivates you to take on new challenges. Conversely, saying, "I am always failing," will lead to a lack of initiative and a defeatist attitude. By changing your internal dialogue, you can open up new opportunities and achieve greater success.
Exercise: Transforming Your Vocabulary
Let's do a quick exercise to help you transform your vocabulary and start creating consciously:
1. Identify Negative Self-Talk: Write down any negative phrases you often say to yourself, like "I am tired," "I can't do this," or "I am not good enough."
2. Reframe with Positivity: For each negative phrase, write a positive counterpart. For example, "I am full of energy," "I can do this," or "I am capable and strong."
3. Daily Affirmations: Create a list of positive affirmations using your reframed phrases. Repeat these affirmations daily, especially in the morning and before bed.
4. Monitor Your Language: Pay attention to the words you use throughout the day. When you catch yourself using negative language, immediately reframe it to something positive.
By consciously choosing positive words, you start to create a new reality for yourself. Your words shape your thoughts, which in turn shape your actions and ultimately your life.
I used to struggle with negative self-talk and would constantly say things like, "I am so stressed," or "I am never going to get this done." But once I started paying attention to my words and consciously choosing positive affirmations, everything changed. I began to feel more energized, capable, and optimistic about my life and goals.
For example, instead of saying, "I am overwhelmed," I started saying, "I am capable of handling everything that comes my way." This simple shift in language had a profound impact on my mindset and productivity. I felt more in control and less stressed, which allowed me to approach my tasks with a positive attitude.
Another example comes from my daily routine. Previously, I would say, "I don't have time for this," whenever faced with additional tasks. This mindset made me feel rushed and stressed. Now, I tell myself, "I manage my time effectively," which has led to better time management and a more relaxed attitude towards my schedule. This change in language has significantly improved my efficiency and reduced my stress levels.
Creating by default is a powerful concept that highlights the importance of mindful language and conscious creation. By choosing positive words and affirmations, you can transform your reality and create the life you truly desire. Remember, every word counts, so speak with intention and positivity.
