Current Situations Do Not Dictate Future Destinations
Your current situation does not dictate future outcomes in your life. Why would it? You are meant for forward action! You get to choose in which direction you are going to move. Everything naturally evolves in life. Your choice, your part to do, is to choose in which direction you will grow, not get stuck or trapped at a lower level. Your part is to have a plan for your life and then get in alignment with where you are going. We need to know what we aim at, not focus on where we are!
Current situations can be discouraging at times. Look, I get it. Where you are in life can sometimes feel final. You've done that job for your whole life. That's what your income has always been. You've been with that person forever. Or that's what you've always eaten and how you've always treated your body. Where you are today has absolutely no bearing on where you can go tomorrow! If you are willing to do the work, make a plan, and show up for yourself, you can end up anywhere on the gameboard of life. Do not let anyone tell you differently!
The comfort zone and status quo are the greatest traps and pitfalls in the Game of Life. They can trap you at any level and in any circumstance you allow. It is up to you to decide that you can go further, have more, be more, and do more. When you have made that decision for yourself, you can guarantee that you will see the next level, but only if you do the work and show up.
We decide what level we stop at. Nobody else does. The shift needs to occur from "I am where I am" to "where could I be if I gave life my best shot?" Age has nothing to do with it. I know I talk about working hard in your younger years. I stand by that because it is easier to build a successful life the earlier you start, simply due to the compound eļ¬ect of your work and time. But it can happen at any age if you want it.
The levels must all be passed, and you can take on any goal at any age and make it happen. Remember our example of a lawyer we used early in this book, to demonstrate how life was made only of levels. Can a person become a lawyer at 65? Of course, they can! Anyone who passes the levels can reach the goal and reward.
It doesn't matter what skill stats or resources you currently have access to. With the right plan and dedication, you will learn to put one foot in front of the other to get there. Each day, you will begin to get one step closer to where you are going, and that's a heck of a lot better than staying somewhere you don't want to be. If you ļ¬nd your situation discouraging, know it will get better little by little, and all is within reach with planning and commitment.
Let’s look at some wild situational changes made by some amazing humans.
Younger Self; Direction Check
Looking back on our younger selves allows us to gain valuable insights and wisdom. Imagine oļ¬ering advice to your younger self, guiding them on their life journey. There is signiļ¬cant value in self-reļ¬ection and asking yourselves deeper questions as check-ins through your Soul Game.
Self-reļ¬ection is a powerful tool for clarity and overstanding. Looking back on our past allows us to recognize patterns, learn from our experiences, and identify areas of growth. It provides us with an opportunity to celebrate our accomplishments, acknowledge our challenges and pay tribute to our regrets. By connecting with our younger selves, we can learn and grow through what we go through.
