Instructions: 

When it comes to giving instructions, some people have heard this referred to as affirmations. Affirmations are a part of my life, and you'll be learning all about them in Volume: Choose Again. But that’s not what we are talking about here.

Affirmations are something different. Affirmations are more passive in nature. Affirming something can be powerful, but they are associated more with statements in your mind, not something you are sending out to the Universe. Affirmations are actually to build belief in oneself, more than anything. You are sending the instruction to your own mind. The Universe already knows you can be all those amazing things. Trust me. It already thinks the absolute world of you. It’s yourself that needs convincing. It’s YOU that affirmations are instructing. That’s the difference with affirmations. They are your way of coaching yourself back to being the strongest character you can be in the game. When we speak things in our mind and, sometimes, out loud, such as I AM statements, we reinforce our beliefs and power. All of this helps us manifest, but in a less direct way than sending instructions.

When we are doing our part and communicating what we desire to manifest to the Universe, it is more powerful to think of this as an active instruction. It lands stronger than an affirmation. Like an order, an instruction is not just a statement. It is something sent out with the intention of being picked up, and the order filled, so that whatever was requested can come back to you. In this sense, instructions are much more specific than affirmations. Remember, creation is a very ACTIVE process. You can't just hope and hold what you desire to create in your head. You need to actively send out instructions for what you desire.

The very instant you send an instruction, the ENTIRE Universe begins rearranging itself on your behalf! I do mean that. The very SECOND you intentionally, and with a pure heart, send a request out to the Universe in the form of an instruction, it begins conspiring to fulfill it for you. The instructions set everything in your vision in motion.

But, remember this. Even though the order is in motion, it takes time. Sometimes, it’s a really long time. The larger the order, the longer it takes.

Think about it this way. If you want to become a lawyer, you can send your instruction to the Universe, telling it to make you a lawyer. That’s a large order though, so it can't be done overnight. First, it has to respond by providing you with opportunities along the way, including important steps like sending you to law school and preparing you for passing the bar exam. There are a lot of steps in this process. From the moment you send in this order, the Universe begins working behind the scenes to set up these steps. The Universe’s response is not always visible or obvious. It's always rearranging to match your requests but it takes time in the physical world for energy work behind the scenes to manifest in your physical world. You just have to trust that it is setting up the steps for you behind the scenes.

While all of this is happening behind the scenes, the Universe does want you to stay focused. To help with that, it will provide small responses of encouragement to keep you inspired. They are not a fulfillment of your order but little cues that will keep you faithful to your plan by letting you know that you are on the right path. An example of this is a customer complimenting you on how well you understand architecture while you’re working at a home design store, paying your way through your university degree in architecture.
