Vices Open Voids

Vices are the number 1 way to open up your vessel to a dark spirit.

Imagine a vessel, hollowed out and yearning. This is the heart of one experiencing Soul loss and becoming Soul-sick through disease, a void seeking solace. Yet, more often than not, instead of true healing, many find solace in low-vibration vices, further shadowing their inner luminance. True comfort becomes elusive, and in its place, numbing agents promise quick resolve. This masking of the pain is dangerous, for as you numb out uncomfortable situations, people, experiences, or moments in time, the disease in your body is festering and will spread, and you will be none the wiser as you numbed it and have no idea that it is growing and getting stronger. As you 'check out' using vices, your Soul begins to literally 'check out.' Think about alcohol for a moment - alcohol has a long, rich history in taking the Soul out of humans - they're not called spirits for no reason.

alcohol  (adjective)
The term "alcohol" is derived from the Arabic word "al-kuhl."
- relation to "body-eating spirits."

Alcohol is a spirit, and it loves an empty vessel because it can be its 'new home.' Ever notice how quickly alcoholism can take over a person's life? There's merely a shell of them left afterward - where have they gone? Who have they become? You'll hear people say, "He's just not himself when he drinks," "I don't remember doing X when I drank." What is blacking out? When a person drinks and blacks out, they are gone; they don't remember anything because their Soul was gone. It literally leaves, as the situation is too poisonous for it, and thus there is no observer - thus, how could they remember something they never observed? Blacking out is not falling asleep because you can wake a sleeping person, but you can't wake a person who is blacked out because they're not here to be woken. Look at the word even, 'black out.' What is a blackout? A dark void.

The moral of this section? Vices don’t heal voids; they darken them and widen them until that void is large enough and dark enough that something else might step in and fill it as your Soul steps out.5
