Today’s episode is: If You're Not Changing It, You're Choosing It.
Let's dive into the concept of killing your Plan B and embracing a singular focus on your primary goals. Often, choices and confusion arise because we have too many options or are working with too many plans. You should only ever have a Plan A. Don't have a Plan B. Having a Plan B will train your subconscious mind to project failure as it knows there is a second and most likely easier option available to it.
See, your mind's sole purpose is to save and preserve energy. This is why it goes on autopilot, always choosing the easiest route, often being the route it has chosen every time before. If it doesn't have to think, it saves energy. Why would it guide you towards stepping out of your comfort zone and doing new and scary things if you have provided it with the safe haven of a promise it could return to staying the same? Planning for a Plan B will be the death of your Plan A. Be bold - be sure - believe in yourself.
If you have the dream to bring it to life, this is your divine design. Your divine design is that one thing you are here to do that no one else can do. You need to believe in yourself and know that when you have these dreams, they are not random; they are assigned to you and you only. Kill your Plan B.
The stark reality of our choices echoes the sentiment, "If you're not changing it, you're choosing it." This powerful statement serves as a reminder that our current state is a direct result of the choices we make, or fail to make. It's a call to action, urging us to take control of our lives and the direction we wish to head in.
The concept of a Plan B often seems like a safety net, a backup in case our primary plans falter. However, this very safety net can become the biggest obstacle in achieving our Plan A. When we entertain the idea of a Plan B, we inadvertently signal to our subconscious that failure is an option, making it all too easy to divert from our primary goal. The mind is a powerful entity, designed to conserve energy whenever possible. It operates on autopilot, gravitating towards familiar paths and resisting change to maintain comfort and minimize energy expenditure. This resistance becomes a formidable barrier when we attempt to venture beyond our comfort zones, towards the new and unknown. The presence of a Plan B reinforces the mind's tendency to avoid exertion, thereby undermining our efforts towards Plan A.
Embracing a single-minded focus on Plan A requires boldness and unwavering belief in oneself. It's about understanding that the dreams we dare to dream are not arbitrary whims but are, in fact, part of our divine design. This unique purpose or calling is what we are here to fulfill, a task that is ours and ours alone. The dreams that find their way to us are not coincidental; they are entrusted to us, demanding realization. To 'Kill Your Plan B' is not just a strategy but a declaration of faith in one's abilities and destiny. It's an acknowledgment that the path to bringing our dreams to life is through relentless pursuit and singular focus.
Addressing procrastination is not about prescribing remedies or strategies to overcome it. The solution is disarmingly simple yet profound—stop procrastinating and start moving. Procrastination is often a manifestation of deeper fears, uncertainties, or resistance to change. However, recognizing that the power to actualize our dreams lies within us is crucial. We hold the custody of our aspirations and are solely responsible for their nurturing and eventual fruition. It's a reminder that as adults, we possess the autonomy and capability to steer our lives in the direction of our dreams. Each day presents an opportunity to take deliberate steps towards realizing our ambitions. Our dreams, akin to our offspring, depend on us for their survival and growth. The commitment to act, to move beyond excuses and procrastination, is what will ultimately determine whether our dreams merely survive or truly thrive.
In essence, the journey towards realizing our dreams and fulfilling our divine design is paved with choices—decisions that either propel us forward or keep us tethered to the status quo. It's a journey that demands courage, conviction, and the readiness to embrace change without the safety net of a Plan B. This mindset shift is crucial for making significant progress in life.
By eliminating Plan B, you focus all your energy and resources on Plan A, increasing your chances of success. This approach compels you to fully commit to your primary goal, ensuring that every action you take is aligned with your ultimate vision. This level of commitment and focus can lead to extraordinary achievements.
Furthermore, this mindset also enhances your resilience. When you eliminate the fallback option, you force yourself to find solutions and overcome obstacles. This resilience is essential for personal and professional growth. Challenges and setbacks become opportunities for learning and improvement rather than excuses to give up.
Lastly, let's talk about procrastination. I am not going to sit here and tell you what to do when you are procrastinating - that is a waste of time - the answer is to stop. Simply get going - stop making excuses - you know your direction, and it's your job to take the steps every day. We're all adults - remember we own all the custody of our dreams - it's up to us if our dreams survive and thrive.
In summary, the journey towards realizing our dreams and fulfilling our divine design is paved with choices—decisions that either propel us forward or keep us tethered to the status quo. Embracing a single-minded focus on Plan A, confronting procrastination head-on, and taking deliberate, consistent actions are key strategies to achieving our goals. It's a journey that demands courage, conviction, and the readiness to embrace change without the safety net of a Plan B. By doing so, we can unlock our full potential and live the life we truly deserve.
