Resistance Fades with Action
Have you ever wondered why resistance fades away as you repeat an action? It's because your mind becomes accustomed to what you're doing and eventually stops fighting against it. With each repetition, the task becomes more automatic, and your mind begins to embrace it rather than resist it. It's amazing how you can shift from loathing a task to adoring it simply by practicing it repeatedly. Your mind's true love isn't the task itself but rather its familiarity. The more familiar it becomes with a task, the more it enjoys it and chooses it. You can literally go from hating something to loving it simply by repetition—crazy!
Everything is hardest to do the very first time; the next time it gets easier. You will always feel the most resistance in the beginning. The first time has the most push back because it is forcing your brain to leave the comfortable and choose a new option, which it doesnt like to do.
Now that you know the difference, you can recognize it when it comes up. You can check in with yourself when you meet this rejection and do a self-assessment. Ask yourself, “Is this a hurdle that is challenging me to jump to the next level, or is it a warning to change direction?”
