You Are Excited, Not Anxious: Problems Are Good to Have
Two pitfalls to watch out for when progressing through levels of your Game: 1. Thinking that problems are bad. 2. Thinking you are anxious when in fact you are excited
Mindset Shift about Problems
Problems are going to happen.
I wanna give you an example: say you’re cleaning your house and the more you get done the more you realize you have to do. You decide you’re gonna organize a closet but, when you start organizing it, you see that there’s something else inside the closet that must be organized. Your to-do list did not get longer. You simply revealed your next step.
This is how it works every time you take a step forward—the next door opens when you cross off your list and close the door. Your list is not getting longer; you can simply see your next steps. Problems are good to have. These so-called problems are actually your roadmap to your next steps to getting ahead.
Congratulations, you've passed the level.
Not all problems are bad. And if you are not careful with sorting your overwhelming tasks in life you can start seeing your blessings as problems.
It’s normal to have pressure in life, but let’s make sure you don’t allow your blessings to start ending up on the pressure list.
Training your mind to differentiate between problems that are actually problems and things that create pressure because you're overwhelmed—not because they are actually problems—is important. You live in a busy world now and this can begin to happen—I once heard Grant Cardone teach this lesson and it has stuck with me ever since:
Grant Cardone is one of my favorite people to listen to for sales. He is over the top and at first will come across as very money driven. But if you give the guy a chance, you’ll see everything he does is ultimately to create freedom for his family. Grant preaches about good problems, problems still, but problems that are a result of the actions you have taken and your successes in life. Your house need a new roof? Well, that's a good problem to have, You HAVE A HOUSE that needs a new roof! There are people out there who don't even own homes. You have a good problem. Your driveway need to be shoveled for snow? Well, isn’t it nice to have a driveway? That’s a good problem to have. Have too many birthdays or weddings coming up? Well, isn’t it a good problem to have too many friends and family members who love you?
Recognize when “problems” are actually blessings of levels you have passed.
