CEO OF YOUR LIFE
What does it mean to be the CEO of your life? Every day, you have the opportunity to lead a life of purpose-driven action in the direction YOU choose. Just like a CEO who leads a company toward its vision and success, you must navigate your own life in the direction you intend to go, not the direction others tell you. Do you think a CEO would let their employees tell them how to run the company? Of course not.
They lead their team and employees because they are the CEO. Well, news flash: you are the CEO of your life, and if you have stopped leading the direction of your life, you have lost control of it.
CEO
noun
A chief executive officer, the highest-ranking person in a company or other institution, ultimately responsible for making managerial decisions.
First, you must reposition yourself mentally into your rightful position and claim back your power!
Have you seen that Instagram quote, “You are the CEO of your life. Hire, fire, and promote accordingly.”
It’s time to get serious about your life and start hiring, firing, and promoting accordingly. This goes for the people you know, the people you surround yourself with, your habits, and where you spend your time, energy, and money. This requires you to evaluate the people, habits, and environments in your lives and decide who or what to "terminate" if they no longer add value. The people you "hire" into your life—those you keep close—should contribute positively to your growth, helping you stay aligned with your goals. However, many lose sight of their mission and purpose by filling voids with distractions. Instead, you need to clean house and fire everything and everyone who is not adding value to your life or, worse, pulling you off mission or off course. If it is not getting you to where you want to be, then it has to go.
In order to be the CEO of your life, you must own your power and exercise autonomy over your decisions and direction, regardless of other people's conditioned beliefs or societal expectations. Authentic authority in your life means making choices based on clarity, intention, intelligence, and strategy—knowing where you are going and what you want in life.
