Spectator versus Participant

The largest pitfall—one of the biggest traps in the Game—is to become a spectator.

  • Participant (noun)—“a person who takes part in or becomes involved in a particular activity” (Oxford Dictionary).
  • Spectator (noun)—“a person who watches at a show, Game, or other event, especially a sports event” (Oxford Dictionary).

In your Game, you are a participant, not a spectator. I'm sure you have heard the quote, “build your dream or others will have you build theirs.” This is a great explanation as to why you want to be a participator and not a spectator in your life. You can't be on the field and up in the bleachers simultaneously. You want to stay on the field. Always!

Transitioning from a spectator to a participant in life is the Game-changing move.

Think of it like a POWER move.

You move from merely observing others achieving their goals as you sit on the sidelines to being the main character playing in the Game.

Where else is it easy to see Game theory? The school system and the workplace.

The School System

The school system uses Game theory. It assigns tasks required to finish levels—for example, passing exams before you can go to the next grade.. It also provides rewards and punishments—for example, scholarships, recognition, and punishments, like repeating a course or grade.

The Workplace

President’s Club. What's that? It’s Game theory applied to the workplace. Want your employees to work harder? Create competition and a reward for them to level up to! Watch everyone start competing for the free Hawaii trip! How about sales targets or employee of the month? They are the same thing. They are examples of how your employer is running a Game on you!

If everyone else is using Game theory on you, why are you not using it on yourself? No one has ever trained you to use Game theory for your advantage, for your own personal advancement. The system and organizations know to use it on you to get you to do what they want. You will learn to do the same in this course.

It is human to want to compete and move forward. In fact, expanding is the sole purpose of everything on Earth. Flowers blossom. Trees grow. Everything is expanding. Everything on Earth has the same mission: evolve and expand. You are meant to want to expand and grow in the Game of Life.

In this course, you will learn how to use Game theory on yourself to evolve and expand.

Gamifying life will change your life. By incorporating elements of games into your daily routines and goal-setting, you can make life more enjoyable and increase your chances of success. When you approach tasks and challenges as if they were levels to be conquered or achievements to be unlocked, you tap into your innate desire for progress and accomplishment. This gamified mindset can motivate you to push through obstacles and persist in the face of adversity while helping you find joy in the process of self-improvement.

Embracing the power to create your own reality is powerful!

Acknowledge that you have the ability to shape your circumstances and determine the outcome of your life. You are the CEO of your life and it is time you start acting like it!

Gamification offers you a new perspective on navigating life's challenges and accomplishing your goals.

By viewing life as a Game with its own set of rules and objectives, you can approach levels with a sense of curiosity while you craft your moves and take over your own personal Gameboard. You will win in the Game of Life; instead of being overwhelmed by all you have to do, you make it fun to play and pass.
