The Law of Use: "Use It or Lose It"
There is a Universal Law at play here: "Use it or lose it." Skills that are not used regularly begin to decline. Think about learning a second language—you might become proficient with practice, but if you stop using it, your fluency fades. This principle applies to all skills. To maintain mastery, you must keep using and developing your core strengths consistently.
The more you use a skill, the better you become at it, and the more value it brings you. This is why focusing on your strengths provides a better return on investment (ROI) than trying to bring up your weaker areas. If you spend all your time working on your weaknesses, your mastery skills may start to decrease, and you lose the edge that made you exceptional in the first place.
