Empower Yourself: Health, Mindset, and Taking Control
I recently had a conversation with a friend who was worried about his partner getting the vaccine and the potential health implications. His concern was palpable, but I emphasized the importance of trusting in one's health and reinforcing that belief. You need to know that you're good. You need to know that you're healthy. You need to trust that you're healthy. You need to tell yourself that you're healthy. You have to tell yourself, "My immune system is good. I am good. My body is strong."
How do you get to a point where you can say that with such confidence? By consistently showing up with healthy behaviors and knowing you're good. When people around me worry about getting sick, I don't even flinch, because I know I'm good. I know how many supplements I take. I know how much I exercise. I know how much I sauna. I know how much water goes through my body. I know how much sleep I get. I know everything I'm doing. And for that reason, I cannot get sick. It's not even a possibility.
My standard is that I couldn't possibly get sick. I can stand in that truth and feel fully confident because of everything I do. Worry is such a low vibration. The reason why so many people are fearful is because they know they’re not doing their part. If they were doing their part and were healthy, they would not worry or fear getting sick because they would know they were good in their heart and soul.
Instead of feeding into the negativity and fear, remember that negative thoughts breed almost twice as fast as positive ones. Unlike trying to change a food habit by adding more good, with thoughts, it’s more effective to remove the negative. Negative thoughts, feelings like worry, panic, fear, anxiety, and stress are what you need to focus on eliminating. Doing this will get you to where you want to go faster.
Instead of ruminating on thoughts like, "What if I get sick?" put effort into becoming a healthy individual. Do the things that healthy people do. We all know what to do to be healthy. But knowing and doing are two different things in life. Sometimes we need a clear, actionable list to follow. Here’s what we should all be doing to confidently know our bodies are good:
- Drink three to four liters of water a day.
- Get eight hours of sleep every night.
- Move your body for at least one hour a day. Cardio is even better, but start with walking if that’s what you can do right now. Just keep pushing yourself to do more and be better.
Your body, your equipment in the game of life, needs to move at least an hour a day. An hour is the minimum you should do to take care of the only body you have. You don’t get a second model, so let’s take care of this one.
Once you have the foundation of water, sleep, and movement, get your food under control. Your body is your number one tool in this life, and what you fuel it with matters. When you start controlling what you eat, you’ll notice better performance and ease in your daily life.
When you do these things, you will know in your soul you are good. You’ll look at people and confidently say, "I can't get sick," because you know everything you're doing for yourself. Instead of worrying about what could happen, take action and choose what will happen. By taking action, you create your destiny. You get the future that you decide you get. So go out there and get that future.
Nobody should be worrying when there is so much action that can be taken. If you take all this action and still worry, reach out to me—that's another conversation. But for now, focus on empowering yourself through these positive actions.
