Physical Gestures of Sealing The Deal
Why do those who are religious cross their body? SEALING THE DEAL again. Except this time, it is a sealing IN of one’s energy. Or what about when someone ‘zippers’ their energy in and up? Again, sealing in their energy.
Rituals, whether spiritual, magical, or religious, are all about energy—opening, directing, and sealing it. The process of opening a circle, casting intentions, and then closing the circle is foundational in many traditions. Modern witches, for instance, carefully open a circle to create a sacred space, cast their intentions, and then close it to seal the energy and prevent interference. Even the direction they exit matters, as they choose specific cardinal points (North, South, East and West )to maintain balance and intention.
When you zip your energy closed, seal your intentions with affirmations, or physically mark boundaries through gestures, you are actively participating in the creation process. It’s no coincidence that the word sew aligns with the spiritual act of so (as in “so it is”) and the Natural Law of sow (as in “you reap what you sow”). These phonetically similar words reveal the underlying truth: creation, affirmation, and consequence are all interconnected.
Just as the cross seals energy, your words sew reality. The phrase “and so it is” or ‘Amen’ serve as the final stitch, binding your intentions to the fabric of existence. Speaking affirmations or casting spells is not just about expressing desires; it’s about weaving them into reality. Language becomes a needle, threading intention into the material world.
