Social Clean Out: How to Clean Up the Content You Take In?

Remember, we are telling them what box you belong in. Audit your social platforms and remove all content that does not fit your current and future self. Listen to the words of the songs you play, and especially any songs you sing out loud.

Who You Follow: Worth Knowing versus Well Known

With the personification of false idols throughout our media and social platforms, our culture has mixed up "well known" with "worth knowing." These celebrities are portrayed as idols. But honestly, what do you know about them? What quantifiable qualities do they have which justify you placing them on a pedestal? Being well known does not define worth. Seek out these people, build your tribe with people of substance. Idolize those who inspire you, those who make you want to do more, be more, do better, and be better.

Exercise: Following Audit

Instructions: Audit who you are following across all of your platforms.

Yes, I want you to go through who you are following on all your platforms. Do this in levels or do this in a power session. How quick you take your power back is up to you. Ask these questions as you look at each profile picture – it is important to look at the profile pictures to connect into the energy you are choosing to keep or let go.

Questions:

1. Why do I follow this person?
2. What do I admire about this person?
3. Do I want to be like this person?
4. Do I want to take on the mannerisms, behaviors, and values of this person? Does their feed motivate you, inspire you, teach you? Do you want to be like that person?

Try simply scrolling through the list and/or go letter by letter – check a letter a day or a letter a week, up to you. The types of stimuli we expose ourselves to, we eventually become. It is spiritually irresponsible to continue down the road with those holding you back. This calls a lot of energy back!
